I Don't Miss It

I remember so many days(months?)when I was at the bottom, on my knees praying for something, for anything, to help me get clean.

But it had to start with me admitting I was powerless and being willing to ask for help and do the work. When I did that, my sobriety journey started.

Without recovery as the foundation for this life, there would be no family, no friends, no love, and no hope. Occasionally I crack the door and peek back to remember what it was like. I don’t miss it. Photo: Bill Bungard
